Bank of the Rockies, N.A. HONORED WITH ABA FOUNDATION COMMUNITY COMMITMENT AWARD

Helena, MT– Bank of the Rockies, N.A. was nationally recognized by the American Bankers Association Foundation for its CONversations About Cons program with a 2017 Community Commitment Award. The award was given to Bank of the Rockies for its efforts in the Protecting Older Americans category and will be presented during ABA’s Annual Convention in Chicago on Oct. 17.
CONversations About Cons promotes elder fraud prevention and awareness through education and candid roundtable discussions with seniors, their families and caregivers. In 2017 the program expanded to include “Protecting Our Aging Treasures” to publicly promote elder fraud prevention. Regular discussions and staff training encourage participation from presenters and attendees.
The selection committee chose six banks based on the creativity and thoughtfulness of programs — traditional or innovative in nature and structure — that embody the ideals of corporate social responsibility and demonstrate success in measurable terms.
Entries were divided into six categories including affordable housing, community and economic development, financial education, economic inclusion, protecting older Americans and volunteerism. Award winners were chosen by a field of nationally-recognized experts.
“CONversations About Cons demonstrates Bank of theRockies’ strong and passionate commitment to bettering the lives of its customers and local community,” said Rob Nichols, ABA president and CEO. “Their work embodies the mission of the Community Commitment Awards and they are a truly well-deserved recipient.”
“Bank of the Rockies and our employees are always working to find new and meaningful ways to positively impact our community,” said Mike Grove, President. “We are humbled and honored to accept this award for our efforts. We especially want to recongnize Jennell Huff, of our Clyde Park office, who has a passion for our elderly and is committed to helping all of our communities and the state of Montana to improve our efforts to reduce fraud with elders.”
